In the story The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe, the narrator tells how he murdered an old man because of his ghastly eye! He thinks he is not insane, that he is just nervous and wise. The narrator thinks he is completely normal, but other people would view him as a complete loon. The narrator is nice to the old man for the week before he decided to kill the old man. The narrator is a crazy psycho because he says that the eye makes him go insane. The narrator thinks he is doing people a favor if he kills the old man. The narrator may think that he is completely sane but he really needs to be sent to a mental hospital where he can get some help. The narrator thinks he needs to kill the man with the vulture looking eye even though the old man has never wronged him. The narrator is not sane because he tells you how he killed the old man and were he hid the body. I think even if some would say he needs to go to prison because he killed the man, most prisons are not equipped to handle someone with mental problems. He needs to be put in a mental hospital to stay. I’m not saying he didn’t know what he was doing I’m saying that he needs to be put somewhere where he can get some help. In the story the narrator states, “ It took me an hour to place my whole head within the opening so far that I could see him as he lay upon his bed. Ha! – would a madman have been so wise as this.” The narrator said it took him an hour to place his whole head within the opening, and he is still saying that he is not crazy.
