Anne Lamott’s “Shitty First Drafts” leads us through the steps in the writing process and reveals her personal attitude toward the difficult task of writing. Throughout the essay, Lamott expresses that first drafts are very important to writing. Establish where to start and for writers to create and develop their ideas down. To be able to find their own voice for the paper and to begin the first steps for writing a paper. Personally, I agree with Lamott’s idea because it grants the writer to not stress about who reads it, but what you can gain from writing a shitty first draft.
