Imagine being in a tough situation where information could be given to save thousands of lives, but it can only be given in one way and it would torture. Most people would say that torture is inhumane and it does nothing other than hurting a human for information; however, torturing suspects does so much good for our country and safety.Although torture may not give out good information sometimes. People must use torture as a method of extracting information for the good of society.The reasons torture will do a lot of positives are because it helps get information out of criminals as well as torturing suspects may help save many lives.
In fact, Torture may lead to harming citizens it may get valuable information, but getting this valuable information will help solve important crimes that wouldn't have been solved without torturing suspects that may have some type of information. As shown by “Is torture effective for gathering intelligence” states,“ The other detainee told us, even more, information about letters that this person had been carrying back and forth to bin Laden. ” This article talked about how torturing got information on letters going to Osama Bin Laden, possibly helping stop a future terrorist attack and keeping people safe. The way it can do it is by stopping terrorist acts by groups and other countries.
