After taking the survey, I realize I use the Transformation Leadership style, I scored 70/80. I viewed myself at my current job, and I realize I am the most positive thinker at the work place. I am firm about teamwork, helping and guiding each other. Anytime a procedure needs to be done I am teaching co-workers through the situation. Most of my co-workers refer to me for advice in any situation at work even if I am not the primary nurse. I love to teach, and I am very vocal. Sometimes I fear I may go overboard, and be seen as bossy. I try to go to every person at work to make sure they are not behind and just try to keep everyone on track at work. Nurse leaders need administrative support and evidence based practice is seeking individuals with BSN degrees at the bedside to drive higher quality care. In this process, I am able to identify assets and strengths in order to become a more effective leader.

I feel 2 heads are better than one, and believe, or associations with people we lead, makes actions in patient care better, cause we as people drive off each other’s ideas. After reading, I found I combine and use characteristics within each leadership as a nurse leader. I am self-confident, caring, driven, attentive and strong-minded and good communicator, and I am always looking for what is best for the patient. “Although transformational qualities are highly desirable, they must be coupled with the more traditional transactional qualities of the day-to-day managerial role or the leader will fail” (p. 45 ).
