What is my Code for?

Think of a set of rules or principal values that people believe are necessary for their success. That is their code of conduct. Whether someone thinks they need to be brave or intelligent is all part of someone's code. When I think of what my code could be, I try to use what others have said about me. Being loyal, determined, and loving are the main words people use to describe me. Using the Life application Study Bible, by Tyndale House Publishers, I can see how I can use my code to have a fulfilling life. I need to be loyal to the things I believe in, determined to finish everything I start, and loving to those I care about.

Being determined is a vital part of my code because if someone isn't determined, they may not work hard enough to see results. The Bible defines determination as the purpose to carry out God’s goals in God’s time regardless of the opposition (“Character”). Jesus' determination is shown throughout the Bible. In the Tyndale Life Application Study Bible, “As the time grew near for his return to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.” (Luke 9:51). Although Jesus knew he would face persecution and death in Jerusalem, he was determined to go there. When God gives us a course of action, we must move steadily towards our destination, no matter what hazards await us there (Bock, McKnight, and Stein 1570). Like Jesus, I am determined. My future is something I'm very determined about. I have a dream of being an engineer at NASA. I really like STEM and space, so I'd like to have a career that involves both. Katherine Goble, Johnson, is a big inspiration to me. She was an American mathematician who calculated and analyzed the flight paths of many spacecrafts during her more than three decades with the U.S. space program. Her work helped send astronauts to the Moon (Britannica). She inspires me because she was very dedicated to her job, and no matter what hardships she faced, she was determined to get the job done.
