Introduction
This assignment will be on a case study which involves a residential care home called Riverglade House. This task will be to identify the different hazards. A hazard is danger that cannot be avoided . The task will explain some hazards that are found in this care home, which are safety hazard, health hazard and security hazard.

Security hazards
Riverglade House is a Victorian house that is on the main road and is on a large ground which will cause that the elderly with dementia to get lost as they would have forgotten which way they came from. This is a security hazard as it will result a missing person and/or a risk of the elderly person getting hurt or end up getting killed by a car.
Another security hazard is that the residential home is on a main busy road and there is no security alarms in place. This a risk of the residents getting hurt by a burglars as the carers may not hear them.

This is a safety hazard as there will be the risks of residents getting injuries, falling broken limbs. This is also a big risk as the wheelchair user can slip on the wet floor and hit the wall or another resident.
In case there is a fire the residents in need help evacuating the building, although the elderly with arthritis would need help most as they cannot move, so the carer will have to ensure that the is a little force as possible. The carers would have to make sure that the wheelchair’s are not in the way of the fire exists as this will make sure individuals can evacuate the building safely. For this to happen safely the staff at the care home have to put in fire extinguisher and smoke
