Urban Sprawl brings new hope for some people that wish the city could grow bigger and could make more money to boost the economy and the quality of living. On the other hand, some people may think that it is overdeveloping and it is gradually destroying the land and environment. People could choose either working in a city or working in a suburban area. In my personal opinion, urban sprawl is a term that comes with a word—profitability. When a city intends to broaden their area to its suburban area, it would usually bring the enormous economic growth. Let me use Boston and Buffalo as an example. In Boston, some people may want to move to suburban area from urban area because the price is cheaper and the house is bigger; however, in Buffalo, some people may stay in the urban area because of cheaper price of housing properties; some people will move out to the suburban area, such as Amherst or Williamsville, from urban area because of safer neighborhoods. They do not preserve the original land and do not care the local people, but money is what the development company only sees in their eyes. In my opinion, I think it is quite unfair. How come the real estate developers and the government do what they want on the suburban lands? The place is used to be pretty and far less crowded. It is supposed to be a good place for people to have a walk and enjoy agricultural and rural life. When they come to the suburban area, the place becomes crowded and noisy. Then, there is a possibility of price increase in housing properties and it may get higher and higher each year. The price increase does not only occur in residential area, but it is a combination of both residential and commercial area in suburban area. I believe that not everyone like city life. I don't see there is any meaning the developer want to make the suburban area become part of city. I think if the people want to experience urban life and then just move to urban city. The suburban area is a place that offers different living style away from the urban city. Therefore, people can enjoy rural
