To whom it may concern,

I have just been informed there were people frequently debating about an issue of whether or not violence in the media including video games, movies, songs, etc. has negative effects on young adults. Also some people believe there is a need for censorship and the elimination of many products while others believe it is unnecessary to ban potentially violent media and media products. In my opinion I think it’s a very unnecessary attempt, taking away violent media to prevent young adults from becoming affected negatively. Some reasons for this are as follows, as young adults we are becoming familiar with the outside world so we might hear some foul language but we don’t see anyone trying to stop it. Also some of our favorite video games deal with violence which makes it more exciting to play because in the real world we may not be able to do those things. Another reason is if violent media is banned, it can’t be because most of the things that we do in our daily lives deal with violence, so it doesn’t make sense.

Video games, they are different worlds which people can travel to right in their homes. Most video games that I play deal with shooting which in other words VIOLENCE but I hope that when people play they don’t start thinking in shooting people. Like the recently video game Call of Duty: Black Ops all that game is about killing people, I don’t think that they will stop those big companies from creating games like that.
