For many Americans, we all stop and think about social security. Many Americans think social security will not be around when they retire. Although so many Americans get social security before its time for them to. There are so many thing's to consider as Americans get closer to looking for there social security, such as can we live off social security. Also should Americans invest into something else to have a retirement other than social security. Therefore is social security an entitlement or an earned benefit. Presently, social security is an earned benefit. Some of the reason's are most people work there entire life and pay into social security. Therefore when they get to retirement they should have this benefit they have worked for. Also medical disability benefits should have a separate fund so people wont have to worry if they can retire. Although I do not think the age of social security should be raised. For Americans who do work full time, and pay into social security they should not have to worry about not having social security.
