The trickster is an important tool in many pieces of literature. Tricksters can be found throughout literature from many different time periods and cultures. Even today tricksters are some of the most memorable, and entertaining characters from a story. All tricksters have many common characteristics, such as their intelligence, cunning wit, sense of humor, and pride. One of the most memorable and beloved tricksters, of the modern day, is Bugs Bunny. He is a character from a cartoon series known as the Looney Tunes. Bugs Bunny shares many characteristics with other tricksters we have read about in literature. He often finds himself in a predicament that he must use his wit, and intelligence to save himself. He has many adversaries that would like nothing more than to cook him into a rabbit stew, yet they never succeed, nevertheless Bugs always remains 5 steps ahead. Some of his favorite tricks include disguising himself in many different forms, such as a baby in a stroller, a child, and a rather attractive and wanton women.
