The darkness of the play seemed to go away in a flash when Macbeth was killed. Before he was murdered and was given the news that Lady Macbeth was dead, he says that her life was blown “out, out brief candle" (5.5.26). This meaning that her life was so short and her death was so sudden just like blowing a candle flame out. Shortly after this, Macbeth is murdered and one of the characters, Lenox, proclaims that the fire in his chimney was mysteriously "blown" out (2.3.63). This demonstration of a fire getting blown out symbolizes that their kingdom was just about equal with hell, burning in flames and full of dreary, and that once the “Devil” (Macbeth) was gone, they were now at peace and this so-called-fire was blown out.
