This woman of America has saved thousands of lives and has faced danger straight in the face. This woman was Araminta Ross, also known as Harriet Tubman. Harriet Tubman was a born into slavery in 1822 in Dorchester County, Maryland. When she got older her master died leaving her a free woman because her husband was a free black man. After she was free, she made the decision to help people who were in need even if she died to make it happen. After that, Harriet Tubman achieved many things in her life. She was a nurse, caretaker, a spy, and helped slaves get to the south through the Underground Railroad. Using risk, time, and the amount of people she saved, her work on the Underground Railroad was her greatest achievement.
