The Heretics punishment in Dante’s inferno is fairly equal to what their sin was because they didn’t believe in hell or heaven, they just believed that they stayed in their tomb forever. In Dante’s inferno the punishment for the heretics is that they stay in their burning tombs forever and on Judgement Day their tombs will be open, then they will reunite with their sinful body, later their tombs will be closed forever. In Dante’s inferno the Judgement Day is “... the tombs are open, but on Judgement Day these sinful bodies will reunite with their sinful bodies, and then the tombs will be closed forever. The punishment is also very equal to their sin because their tombs burn and that is pretty fair because the sinners did not believe in hell
