Frederick Douglass was a hero to everyone; he helped everyone who was slaves and the slave owners who thought slavery was good. He was born in February 1818 and died on February 20, 1895. Frederick Douglass wanted to read, write, and demonstrate that slavery is wrong.

Frederick Douglass got interested in reading when he was eight years old. Frederick’s mistress used to teach him until slavery became a thing. According to HMH, he started going around making friends with little white boys so that he could convert them into teachers. Inside one of his books, he found a quote that inspired him to write. The more he read, the greater his debate could be, and the more his debate would beat slavery and have people on his side. He wrote many books
