Why Do Baseball Players Use Steroid?

When most people think of the Hall of Fame, they usually think of players who have changed the game in amazing ways. For example, Jackie Robinson, who changed the racial issues in the league, or Babe Ruth, who hit so many home runs that it changed the way pitchers pitched. Obviously, getting into the Hall of Fame is hard to do and it is full of 323 legendary players, managers, and umpires (Baseball). But, when "legendary" baseball players use steroids, does that really make them so legendary? You don't have to go into a lot of factors. Steroids are against the rules, so, therefore, they should not get in for violating the rules. And sports analysts definitely shouldn't think so either. First of all, steroids are illegal for a reason. According to Sports Illustrated, a former MLB player who confessed to using steroids stated, "Look, my fastball went from 87 to 96! There's got to be some sort of violation in that." (Should pro) This shows that even players who were once junkies, now realize that they should never have made that mistake. According to Pro-Con.org, "I just don't think we should reward players who used illegal PEDs" (Should Baseball) Even some professional sports analysts are against this happening. We should listen to these people because they actually covered games in the steroid era and they could clearly tell the disadvantages other players had. According to the same source, "It doesn't matter whether the player's production, either home runs or hits, was drug enhanced once, twice or ten times. It doesn't matter; it's still cheating and impugning the integrity of the game and the player's accomplishments."
