1- Corridors help organisms move between patches because of the suitable habitat conditions. For organisms that fly, like butterflies, corridors facilitate the movement from one connected patch to the other, since they are more likely to fly for short distances than to go away from their own habitat, even if the unconnected patch is similar to theirs. For individuals that can’t fly, for example fire ants, which is an invasive species, it is harder to crawl far distances, instead of remaining in their own adjustable habitat without moving between connected patches.
