Why Mary Surratt was guilty for co-conspiring against Abraham Lincoln Mary Surratt was guilty. She was guilty because she was a liar and was very untrustworthy.
My first reason Surratt was guilty was that she worked with John Wilkes Booth. I know this because in source one it said She overheard a conversation between Lewis Powell and John Wilkes Booth. She might not have told anyone of the conversation because she might not have wanted anybody to know that she was working only as the kidnapping but she didn't know of the assassination.
