John Adams, was significant in many ways. He has done a lot for our country and has played a big role in our U.S. history. Some things that are key to John Adams are his childhood, his school career and his significance, and our present day John Adams. John Adams wasn’t the most popular president, but he was very well known for his law, education. John Adams was born into a comfortable family on October 30, 1735. John Adams family was not wealthy, in fact John Adams and his family were a farming family. Adams grew up in the little place in New England. John’s father earned a living as a farmer and shoemaker in Braintree, which is south of Boston. As a child Adams went to a dame school where John was taught to read and write. After Adams got out of dame school, he went to a Latin school. John Adams father wanted him to go to Harvard College when it was time, but John had other plans in mind for his future. John wanted to be a farmer just like his father. After Adams finished dame school, he attended Braintree Latin School, which Adams did not like at all. He did not like reading while he was at school, he would always rather be shooting on his farm. When Adams was eight years old, he moved to Braintree’s Latin School, where he was preparing to go to Harvard. In 1774, John Adams was able to be a part of the first continental congress. He served in the continental congress for four years. Towards the end of 1777 Adams was had been involved in 26 committees. No one else as a congressman was involved as much as John Adams was. He was a little later asked to write the final draft of the Declaration of RIghts and Grievances. John Adams along with Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson were selected to be apart of the committee that helped write the Declaration of Rights and Grievances.
