Throughout the 1800s, year round schooling was made popular by immigrants in the United States wanting to learn the English language. In World War II, the idea of year round schooling was demined because of students needing to work on farms, in factories, or help with the families (Chen,2016). A traditional school calendar is what most students are familiar with, but the traditional calendar is starting to get pushed to the side with the thought of implementing a method used in history: year-round school.
