The United States’ Bill of Rights, nevertheless, have rights that may or may not be more important than the others. But, in my opinion, the 1st amendment would be the most important for every American citizen to possess. This Amendment states: United States citizens have the freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition. The three reasons why the 1st amendment is the most important is because it protects my beliefs and the peoples’ beliefs, our speech and our rights to protest from the wrongdoings, and should be able to gather without the government thinking it is a sort of mob.

For instance, if a person is shy or isn’t outspoken, that person would be able to speak out on the internet. If the 1st amendment didn’t exist, that person wouldn’t be comfortable to speak out their minds. In addition, we would not be able to protest. For example, the NDAPL, Antiwar movement, or the Women's Suffrage movement would not exist if the 1st amendment was not written down in the U.S. Constitution.
The third reason why I believe Amendment one is the most important Amendment in the Bill of Rights is because people should be able to gather in groups without the fear of the government. For example, if there were important matters that need to be discussed in person, people would not be able to gather for them to discuss without the government all in their business. As we have seen in the late 60’s and early 80’s, the black panthers were a group. A group that had a huge role in the Civil Rights Movement. If it weren’t for the 1st amendment protecting their rights, the black panthers wouldn’t exist and as it were the important role for the Civil Rights Movement, the movement wouldn’t be reached up to it’s
