5 Things I learned as a New Mom
1) You will never be prepared enough
I don’t mean this in a rude way, honestly. As a new mom, it’s so easy to take everything in. It’s so easy to read every single article or listen to every story someone has to offer. You have everything planned out. You know how and when to feed them, you know how to put them to sleep, you know how to help to calm them down, you know the best sleep schedule and so forth – but that is ALL thrown out the window once you bring your new baby home. Sometimes you won’t know how to calm your baby down, sometimes feeding can be a hassle, sometimes all you’ll want to know is scream and cry – and that is PERFECTLY OKAY! You’ll never be fully prepared to have a baby, it may take a few trials and errors, but you’ll soon figure it out, just hang in there :)

When I first brought my daughter home, I thought I was beyond prepared. Not only did I have 10 nephews/nieces at the time, but I’ve read everything that I could find on the internet, everything I could get my hands on for 9 months while my little one baked – however NOTHING and I mean nothing prepared to me to the ups and downs to motherhood. It’s a whole different ballgame when it’s your own. Suddenly there is a little person that depends on you for their every need, it can be quite overwhelming. You are going to get unwanted advice and you may at times even think you’re doing something wrong. But, let me tell you something…you’re doing just fine! You’ll know exactly what you need to do, even if it takes a little time to figure exactly how. Each baby is different. So your sister who was able to rock her baby to sleep – well maybe your baby needs some white noise. Follow your instincts and trust yourself. You know what’s best for you and your little
