Achieving and Maintaining Individual Excellence Paper

It is true that most people want to stay away from stresses of life but when we want to be successful in our life by performing some dream accomplishments, there is no way to avoid stresses to some extent. In most cases challenges come from our surrounding environment. How we can manage the challenges is very important. One of my aims is to work in wonderful environment and become successful in what I do. To achieve this, the choice of right environment is crucial. The present environment I am in is quite challenging and difficult to manage. In fact, it is quite aggressive with no real leadership. Of course, I can try to make the environment better by using some key ideas. Getting all the employees in classes to teach them how positive change can be made in an easy way so that everyone gets benefit from it is just one effective idea I can use. Focus can be shifted to structure as any organization gets affected by it. Well planned structure gives a clear idea of how to operate services. During a change, problems with unknown solutions and unpredictable outcomes are always present. That is why leadership must be ready to tackle and accept such situations. According to Fullan, to make change process acceptable to employees, leader should make use of moral purpose, building relationships, and sharing of knowledge. As I work in the prison system, our organization has to have a strategy. Unless the organization has strategies, it cannot start designing. When there are clearly defined mission statement and visions, it is easy to choose from alternative ideas. Strategies combined with design can make the employees more focused to attain the ultimate goal of the organization. When the organization goals are well defined, each employee can be trained according to the goals. Moreover, different employees have different accomplishments to attain and they can be trained accordingly. Human resource development training can help us gain organization skills, abilities and knowledge. In my organization these trainings are mostly formal ones that run over several days.

The outcome of the training is better client satisfaction. By attending the training we come to know how we can accomplish our work effectively. Learning new skills to develop better abilities can help any organization and this is what training can do. Getting to know how one can respond to changes in the organization is something very important. Trainings can help employees understand these issues and so good organizations help employees become better equipped. This is when employees get great supervision and productivity gets a great boost. Learning to know which tasks are really critical, how to develop the capabilities of employees, needs of clients and best way of providing service are important. Ideally supervision directs employees to a state where they create an ideal vision of their job. However, in the traditional way supervision is done by identifying problems, offering solutions and explaining consequences of actions against the subordinates. Of course, this is the basic of supervision so that working relationship can be maintained and organization goals can be achieved. However, although supervisor involved financial planning, subordinates may not see this part of the picture. In fact, general employees may not be able to understand why there are no bonuses or something is being cut unless supervisors can make it understood. That is why financial planning is very important before we engage people in some work. When supervisors know how much fund is available, they can guide employees in right direction so that there is no confusion. Financial management involves three basic things: financial planning, financial control and financial decision-making. In my organization financial management does the collection of all accounting data. Funds going out and coming in have to be evaluated by this management.
