College – Is it worth it? The cost of college is becoming an issue all across America. One of the major pieces to becoming successful business men/women is receiving a college education. Right now in our society a college education is no longer an option or privilege, but rather a necessity. We are practically raised to believe that one needs higher education in order to succeed in life. With increasing tuition prices and job loss, the college dream is slowly and surely slipping away from many students and their families. Without future doctors, lawyers, athletes etc where will the world be in the future? Who will run the country, perform surgeries and close business deals? College tuition is on the climb. While college educated people do stand a better chance of landing a job than those who don’t go to a secondary school, the time it takes to pay back the money laid out for a degree is growing, and causing many to question the efficacy of attending college. However, grants and financial aid are available to students, some still struggle to pay for their tuition. Many people who may not receive a scholarship or enough government funding may not be able to attend college. For many people with low income it will take them about twenty to thirty years to pay off their school loans. Costs have increased 3-4 times more than it did 20 years ago. Higher education costs too much because the states revenue is low, the unemployment rate is high, and graduates cannot pay off loans. Frustrations with the economy and high unemployment rates are consistently shaping public opinions on college degrees. Some experts argue that attending college has become less about learning actual skills and more about simply paying to have a degree. Going to college and succeeding a degree does not necessarily guarantee
