Now there is no single officer responsible for all aspects of passenger screening and bag checks at the same time. Each officer is responsible for a specific screening task at a specific screening time. Officers are constantly rotated without notice preventing them from breaking security measures established. Nothing goes unnoticed at the checkpoint today compared to 14 years ago.
Everything is constantly monitored, and reviewed for effectiveness and irregularities. Management also take an active part in making sure their security defenses are strong, by constantly doing test runs to see if they are able to get through the checkpoint. If they are successful, that officer is reprimanded and or terminated. Everyone now has to take responsibility

The difference between life and death can be as easy as one officer doing their job right. It is a constant effort, but working together with all branches of government enables TSA and other Homeland Security Agencies to keep the people and the U.S. borders safe.
Border Inspection has also become more important since 9/11. Now there are more border security officers who are responsible for screening all those trying to gain entry into the country. They also screen cargo and goods prior to them entering into the U.S. The goal is to prevent unwanted substances and material into the country, which can be sold and used for terrorist funding. Border patrol works hand in hand with the U.S. Customs & Immigration office to prevent unwanted access through U.S borders.
Securing our Transportation system consists of a joint effort between our DHS, TSA and other law enforcement agencies. We have realized that this is a job too big for one person.
