The Boston Tea Party, also referred to as " The destruction of the tea in Boston" by John Adams, was a political protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston on December 16, 1773. In Boston Harbor, a group of Massachusetts colonists dressed up as Mohawk Indians and boarded three British tea ships and dumped exactly three hundred and forty-two chests of tea into the harbor. The Boston Tea Party was was in protest of the British parliament and was intended to stop the tea act of 1773.
