Throughout history the debate whether Columbus was a hero or villain has been widely controversial. In my eyes I see Christopher Columbus mostly as a villain, not only did he enslave and kill many natives for their gold and his own good. He also treated them as inferior and worthless. With all of this in mind, I cannot see how someone would think Christopher Columbus as an overall good human being. In Columbus, The Indians, and Human Progress from Howard Zinn he explores the fact that Columbus was a man looking out for his own good, the Arawak men and women greeted him with food, water, and gift but all Columbus could think of was the gold that he could profit from.
