Columbus; Hero or Villain One of the most misinterpreted holidays in America is Columbus day. We use it to celebrate Columbus’s great adventure to the new world and his peaceful interactions with the native people. However, when we look deeper into the actual events that occurred during Columbus’s exploration, his holiday seems to be more of an immoral and unjust remembrance rather than a glorious celebration. When we were in elementary school, we were told by teachers and books that Christopher Columbus believed that there land to the west when others thought there wasn’t.
