I believe that Cinderella Man is an appropriate name for Jim Braddock during this time period of the Great Depression. One of the main reasons why I believe it is an appropriate is in the book of Cinderella, Cinderella works for her family. This ties into the movie of Cinderella Man, Jim boxes just to get money for the family just to put food on the table and pay all the bills. The story of Cinderella Man that takes place during the Great Depression obviously has an impact on the family as stated in them not having enough money to eat or pay the bills. That is the first reason why I believe Cinderella Man is an appropriate nickname for Jim Braddock.

On the other hand I believe that Cinderella Man is a fitting nickname because even though he goes through rough times he still is loves his family and acts like nothing is happening. Except for the fact that he is no longer able to fight. It seems to me like he believes family love always comes first. The reason why I believe he thinks that way is even though they are going through very bad times between him losing his job for a short time, his wife not working because she is taking care of the children, and the Great Depression he still does not show that it is affecting him but it really is deep down. To me that is the definition of a real Cinderella Man. …show more content…
Thee main reason why They think that is because the story takes place in the Great Depression, so many people have little to no money, so there is no source of entertainment, so they would go to see a boxing match for their source of entertainment.
