Life is about experiences. Every day we encounter something new, something different, something that we’ve never seen before. Many times those things can be the smallest actions or the simplest scenes. Regardless of its size or value, remember to see the beauty in everything. Yeah, believe me, I know. When you’re falling behind in a class and things aren’t seeming too good for you at home, it’s hard to just “look at the brighter side of the situation.” For me, there wasn’t one. Between work, schooling, family responsibilities, and my social life (what little I had left), I couldn’t look past my tinted window of misfortune to see the lovely blue sky. Do you want to know what I did to release myself from that hole of negativity? Take a moment and look around. Did you notice anything? If you didn’t let me help you. What’s there around and will always be there as long as you have breath in your body is an opportunity. Today, right now, in this present moment, you are placed in the best position to do whatever it is you want to accomplish. Now that you’re a senior, you’re going to hear these questions a lot: “What college are you going to? What do you want to major in? What do you want to be when you grow up? It’s not easy deciding the direction your life is going to go when you’re not even sure who you are yet. I know it seems as though the pressure is high and everything is so overwhelming right now; I want you to know we understand. Everyone has been there. Don’t make a hasty decision because you feel like you’re the only person who doesn’t have their life planned out. I assure you, you’re not. Continue to grow and learn things about yourself. That’s the only way you can be absolutely sure where you want to go in
