The child I used for my assessment is a daughter of a family friend. The parent permission was obtained for this assessment. Her name is Skylar and she is nine years old. She is in her fall semester of her third grade year. She is a good kid, and she was pleasant to work with. The assessments that I administered were the Neuhaus Comprehension Screening Assessment, and Words Their Way Spelling Assessment.
During the assessment my student`s behavior was nice. She understood and followed the majority of the directions that I read to her. Skylar did not appear to be distracted. She sat still and worked cooperatively with me.

As the student reads the passage and I recorded two errors. She mispronounced the word implies, and the word greyhound. She has a good understanding of decoding which is one of her strengths, but reading fluency could be a weakness. Skylar reads Messes

She was able to name five things you could find in the classroom. Seven fruit and vegetables were named. She named eight animals and six states in the United States. After adding the total for all four categories and dividing it by two, she named sixteen items in a minute.
For the listening comprehension passage, The Donkey, Skylar got six answers correct out of a total of 8 questions. In the reading comprehension and metacognitive strategies section, she used the majority of the metacognitive strategies except for one of them. She got seven of the eight comprehension questions correct. She missed both of the two answer questions this is another weakness because she has to make sure she gets both parts of the answer to get the full correction.

For the Words Their Way Developmental Spelling Inventory assessment I gave the Elementary Level. Skylar performed well on the Elementary Spelling Inventory. Her strengths were constants, short vowels, blends, and long vowels. Her weaknesses were other vowels and inflected
