Around the world there are a lot of controversial topics. One that comes near to my heart is the removal of the confederate flag. The removal of the confederate flag across the South has two very controversial sides, but in some cases can bring different people together.
In the South the confederate flag plays a big role in many people’s lives. To get some opinions on this topic a couple of people viewed some pictures I picked out. The first couple of pictures relay that the flag is a way of life for a great deal of people in the south. The photographs show the people holding up the flag together. They are standing there proudly and smiling as they hold up the flag to show their support for the flag. The next picture shows a famous celebrity wearing a confederate flag patch on his jacket sleeve. The picture shows him walking down the street with the patch displayed freely so that everyone could see it. He is a well known celebrity, who when brought with a troubling conflict, chose to support the flag. The last couple of photographs show the opposite side of the topic that the …show more content…
When the people viewed my photographs that I picked they did not understand the topic after viewing the first two photos. Ashlyn Estes did not understand what the topic I picked was at first glance, but then grasped the concept when she looked at the last two. She kind of realized that the theme was, “Heritage Not Hate or Hate Not Heritage.” Farrah Fowlkes grasped the topic more so than Ashlyn did. When she looked at the photographs she knew that the topic was about taking the confederate flag down. She said, “ The confederate flag was used in the past as a way of life, but now is a controversial topic.” She understood that the topic was about how some view the flag as a way of life and others viewing it as a hate
