Corruption
Corruption is a big problem for most countries in the modern society (Olen and Pande 480). From research, I have discovered that the meaning of the word corruption is deduced differently by dissimilar people. In my opinion, corruption is the practice of gaining power, effect and other individual gains via unlawful means. In the U.S. there are various domestic challenges that entail abuse of entrusted power for individual and private gains (Pring par. 1). First, corruption has affected the provision of services in most nations. It has led to lack of quality services. In the corrupt systems I have interacted with, the services provided are of low quality since it is money instead of merit that speaks. This leads to failures in major firms like building constructions, patients, deaths, and …show more content…

In the police system, I have heard that investigations may take decades before being followed because of corruption. This allows offenders to increase in number and hence increased crime activities (Mike par. 22). I have seen some criminals spending many years in prison because of delayed investigation at the police station in spite of being innocent.
