The Declaration of Independence states that each person in the United States should be entitled to have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Additionally the Declaration of Independence states in amendment XV and amendment XIX that these rights cannot be taken from one based on race, color or sex (Whitley & Hendwood, 2014). While these amendments should be the basic rights the people are entitled to, many argue that some welfare rights are given too generously while some liberty rights are violated with certain laws.
Liberty and welfare rights are interconnected and if one right excited independently without the other an imbalance would be created. To begin with, the definitions of both principles need to be defined to
