Enemies have always existed throughout history and this was no exception during the 19th century. The thing that made this rivalry become what it was, was the conflicts between two different political parties. The federalist which were led by Alexander Hamilton wanted to have a good strong manufacturing country. Meanwhile Thomas Jefferson wanted an agrarian way of life. Although they both had good ways of trying to make America better they still couldn’t find a way to work together. This then lead to their rivalry over the different viewpoints they had over making America better. Alexander Hamilton became a very important historical figure. He was the one that proposed a financial system that would make America the best credit risk in the western world. However, due to a huge national debt he then proposed to pay off the debt and borrow new money at a lower interest rate. This debt program was a success and it demonstrated the United States willingness to pay …show more content…
Their point of views impacted America in their own different ways. One way that it helped was with the creation of a national bank. However Jefferson’s view on this was also considered since the question of its constitutionality was left up to President Washington. Although the bill was passed it took into consideration what Thomas Jefferson meant. This alone showed how much America was impacted by both of Hamilton and Jefferson’s point of views. Although both Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson tried their best to provide a good structure for America they varied in more ways than one. One of the biggest was their way of wanting to lead their country. For example Hamilton wanted a strong manufacturing government. Meanwhile Jefferson wanted an agrarian way of life.
