As the North American continent became increasingly colonized, the regions and their differences in terms of climate and geography would largely effect the lives of the colonizers. While Native Americans were pushed to the side in both populations, differences in treatment would arise. As the Chesapeake and New England lands were colonized, differences in motivation for settlement would contribute to a differing idea of political freedom, economies focused on different crops, and different make ups of classes and peoples.
