There are total three variables in this hypothesis.
First, the test solution could be either hypertonic or hypotonic. The DI water could be the most hypertonic thing in this lab. However, other big molecule like sugar could be hypotonic. In this case, we can deep the de-shelled eggs seperatly into these solutions. After a long time, we can check the changing of weight to determine how different solutions influence the diffusion, or there will be no diffusion happens in some solutions. Also, in another section, we will use a dialysis bag to deep in a mixed solution. After a while, we are able to check both solutions inside outside of the bag to determine which of these molecules are able to transpass the dialysis. In the third section, we can use the young elodea leaf to deep in the DI water. In this case, if the diffusion happens which suppose to under our hypothesis, we can easily find it out the cell membranes seperat from the cell wall.

In the first section, it will be very easily to find out by measure the weight of eggs. In this case, we need to make eggs deep in several different solutions. Some of them should have higher concentration than the solution inside the egg, and some of them should not. By comparing to each others, we can determine the volume of water changes inside the egg, in order to proof our hypothesis. In the second section, the solution inside of dialysis bag which pertend as human’s blood should have higher concentration than the solution it dept into. By comparing weights before and after the process, we can find it is either gaining water or losing water. Same for the third section, if the cell membranes of elodea leaf seperat from cell walls, we can say it was losing water inside the cell. At the same time, as the solution inside the young elodea leaf’s cells has much higher concentration than the net water, it could also be one of proofs for our
