I started a class of Civic Engagement in Penn State University. In this class I discovered the most important part in life is to serve others. I am from Peru and I always a grew up with difficult times where the economy was always bad. The government cared about other things. The were more important for them. But a this time you can see many children s with different ages working in the street., Any corner of the street,there were families with babies asking for help. Men and woman with disability begging you for food. People with mental issues walking in the street naked. For many of us it was normal to see that. But my heart was uncomfortable. I was more partly feel guilty. It was not enough to help one or two.. for me at hurt to see no body cared about those people. …show more content…
We should not expect our community to have problems. We are visible citizens and that our opinions and ideas have the opportunity to be heard. I think our opinions may have effect and also we can make a difference to those in need. I know a lot of us have lost confidence in participating in duties as a citizen. Also we do not know what happens in our community. We live individually without knowing who is in charge of our community. Sometimes we wonder whether or not we give ourselves the opportunity to shake hands with our neighbor or the opportunity to meet. Is this world we now live in?. This is what happens a lot in our politics. We have become accustomed to living in a climate of insecurity, impunity and corruption scandal encouraged by the government. We do not want this to continue happening, we must do something about it. We are always waiting for others to make society change. Now is when we all have to start making the change. Only by active participation will we recover the bond of our country. I said our country because I don't want to happen in this country what I seeing in my country.
