There are many things that are needed in the schools in order for our scholars to be successful. Students ca not be successful with out help and support from their families, schools and communities. Parents, schools and the community needs to have a clear understanding of what is needed to support the students learning and what can be implemented in order to make sure the support is being given. The need assessment is a tool that is given to parents in order for the school to see how schools can help support their child in their learning success.
Imagine Hope Charter school is the school that I worked at last year and what I will be basing my paper around. Imagine worked hard to involve families in decision making and planning. Parents were invited to charter board meetings. During these meetings parents would be inform of the plans the charter board has for the school. Parents would be able to voice there concerns and express any ideal they may have for the school. The school also held their own town hall meetings at times to update parents on some in house information.

Usually the parents show up to the events that the school is having but they need to be involve in planning the events as well. The school should develop relationships within the community to ensure the community is involved in the the schools as well. For examples banks can come into the school to talk to the students and parents about saving money and budgeting. Families and organizations within the community need to know that they are always welcomed to the events and the school need to make sure they are inviting them to everything that is going on in the school as it pertains to the students. The school needs to make sure that events are being advertised in a timely fashion and in several different
