The Masque Of the Red Death is an allegory because the story teaches us to care about all people and not to be selfish or else bad things will happen. A symbol that represents this allegory is how Prince Prospuro left and locked everybody out of his castle so he would not catch the RED DEATH. “When his dominions were half depopulated, he summoned his presence a thousand hale and light-hearted friends”. Another symbol is how the king dies at the end because he gets the red death. “There was a sharp cry-and the dagger dropped gleaming upon the sable carpet, upon which, instantly afterwards, fell prostrate in death the Prince Prospuro”. The townspeople found out what happened and after that nothing good happened. This story is a good allegory
