The video about experiential learning goes over the purpose, what it requires, explains why it is effective, goes over the positive and negative experiences, details the cycle of experiential learning. The purpose of experiential learning is to learn from mistakes, what the consequences are and what achievements you have made. By learning from mistakes and consequences you tend to remember your life lessons better than from a book. It requires you to take a self-initiative and self-assessment. The video states that individuals learn best from their experiences and their mistakes. A positive experience can make learning something fun and cause you to want to learn more because of the positive experience. The cycle in which experiential …show more content…

The book explains that acting or observing is helpful because you are doing something rather than reading about it. The video also talks about team learning. I think this can be very helpful. A lot of classes require team projects because you can and do learn from other peoples way of thinking and the things they have already learned. I believe that experiential learning is important to include for all students. My life has taught me many things and I have learned a lot of things through the different jobs that I have held. I actually dropped out of high school and got my G.E.D before I would have graduated. My G.E.D. did not go over all the more detailed things you learn when you actually graduate from school. I do believe you can learn a lot from the life that you live. I also believe that you can teach a lot to other people, even in a non-work environment.
