In this assessment you will have the opportunity to present evidence that shows you are able to:
Understand website design concepts
Discuss the design concepts that have to be considered when designing a website
Be able to design interactive websites
Design an interactive website to meet given requirements
Evaluate website design with other users
Be able to implement interactive websites
Implement a fully-functional interactive website using a design specification
Be able to test interactive websites
Critically review and test the website
Analyse actual test results against expected results to identify discrepancies
Evaluate independent feedback and make recommendations for improvements
Create onscreen help to assist the users
Create documentation for the support and maintenance of the website.
In addition to the above pass criteria, this assignment gives you the opportunity to submit evidence in order to achieve the following Merit and Distinction grades:

To achieve M1, you must demonstrate effective time management strategies for completing this assignment. This includes submitting your work for this assignment in accordance with the completion date and submission details. When reporting your research into the standard principles of Web Design you should use of Harvard referencing in line with the College’s published guidelines.

To achieve M2, you should identify and successfully implement an appropriate range of dynamic elements within your website. The analysis of your website design undertaken should include a justification of the design decisions that you have taken.

Coherent, logical development of principles/concepts for the intended audience
To achieve M3 the design and implementation of your site should evidence a coherent relationship with the research undertaken for Task 1.
Use critical reflection to evaluate own work and justify valid conclusions
Realistic improvements have been proposed against defined characteristics for success
To achieve D1, you should use the independent feedback that you receive from task 4 to develop a persuasive and substantiated proposal for improving the design, usability and functionality of your website.

To achieve D2 your completed website should be both original and independently produced. Whilst you are encouraged to draw inspiration from existing websites your own work must not simply replicate them and/or be template based.

To achieve D3, the design of your website should show evidence of creativity and innovation that enables it to engage the intended audience. Your site should make use of new and emerging trends in website design and implement these in a coherent and rational way.
