Friendship is the life's most precious treasure and it is mentioned as the cornerstone of life. Also it is a bond between two living beings, once signed; never retrieved. Friends are gifts from god. A friend is someone who will stand by you in trouble or in joy. A sincere friend will never fail you. It is worthwhile to make friends if they are worthy. It really costs to make friend. We can have true friends only if we are willing to give our life for them. Selfishness can never make or keep friends. We must be sincere only then we can have sincere friends. We can keep our friendship by a thousand expressions of our sincerity. We must show ourselves unselfish, thoughtful, gentle, helpful and patient. We must be watchful of our acts and deeds and the friendship that flows from the heart cannot be frozen by adversity.
Genuine friendships brings joy into life. It inspires and encourages. It gives heart to grow, helps to think more kindly, to give more abundantly and to live more zestfully. Friendship is a cultivated art and it is the song of heart. Accordingly friendship and sharing among persons strengthens and protects person's life and makes it a joy to live. As Adrian Van Kaam observes friendship is a gift that cannot be forced it is a rare event that occurs only when subtle phsychological conditions like a certain affinity between the persons who become friends, is fulfilled.
Genuine friendship always desire the genuine good of the other. By its very nature it always makes the persons concerned to grow. If one is consumed for the benefit of the other there is no true love. True friendship isn't seen with the eyes it is felt with the heart. True friends never get lost, they always return to their spirit's sanctuary. When one dominates the other, what we have is exploitation, manipulation or slavery all of which are totally opposed to human dignity.
People come and go, but the memories of friendship lives on comforting the lonely hours. It is a deep interpersonal relationship between the persons on account of some elements common to each. yet each one freely lives his or her life, without interference from the other. Essentially friendship is always spiritual. It is a serene dialogue that functions on the level of equality of persons. In friendship one always cultivate a great respect for the other, for his/her freedom and for his/her interest in such a way that each one freely lives his or her personal life in full freedom.
