The Gettysburg Address modivated and inspired many of the American people. It encouraged them to continue and finish the fight of the fallen soldiers and to honor them by the people dedicating themselves to reach equality along with them being able to have a voice in the new nation. Abraham Lincoln communicates and achieves his purpose by incorporating repetition, parallelism, and antithesis.

By Lincoln implementing repetition, the Americans are able to fully grasp and comprehend the significant key points. He states, "...in a great civil war...on a great battle-field...to the great task..." This conveys the importance of all those specific events. Since he repeated great numerous times then the Americans are most likely to remember
