Issue on Gun Control Gun control has been a debatable matter over the several past years. Since the passage of the second amendment, the topic of gun control has not been able to reach a solid decision. After the assassination of the presidents, John F. Kennedy and other political figures like Robert Kennedy and rev. Martin Luther king junior, the issue over gun control brought back into the debate. President Lyndon B. Johnson restarted the battle on the topic gun control and won his claim in 1968. It became the primary federal law that regulates the possession of firearms.
