A man named Hammurabi ruled Babylon for 42 years beginning his reign in 1792 BCE. In the last 12 years he took over Mari in the north and Larsa in the south and he became the king of Babylonia. 1,000,000 people were estimated to have been living there. In the 38th year of his reign he made 282 laws in which I am going to be determining whether they were just or unjust. My personal opinion is that the laws are unjust, I will further support my claim. To start off I will be discussing Family Law. The first law I feel is unjust is Law 129 in Doc C.
