Today health care systems’ approach in providing care to a patient use a Holistic model. According to Boswell, Cannon and Miller, nurses are trained to care for a patient based to a holistic model in which person are viewed as biological, psychological, social, and spiritual individual (Boswell et al., 2013). Our population is multicultural, and thus health care providers deal with different people, with own, unique culture, ethnicity, religion, spirituality, own views, values and faith. All those aspects impact the way person lives, deals with health illnesses and death. Every patient requires a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs to be accomplished. Question 8: Does your faith help you to cope with health problems?
Answer: “Yes. Though, sometimes I think God left me, because of so much agony, and suffering. But, then I think about it in another way. God never gives more than the person can handle. I just try to think, that after so much struggle, in other world I’ll be in comfort and peace.” (Mrs. U, personal communication, May 20, 2017).
Interview Analysis The author of this paper felt that the interview was successful and went in a good, peaceful manner. Overall, the interviewee was comfortable and open to answer the question related to her spiritual and religious worldview. The interviewee answers were complete and with some details. There weren’t significant barriers during the interview, though the author felt, that more deep knowledge and information on interviewee religion, culture and traditions, could’ve helped to gather more details and explore deeper into some specific questions. Also, limited experience in spiritual assessment disturbed confidence during the interview. Thus, performing spiritual assessment should be integrated in every patients’ assessment, in o order to enhance the assessment skills. And, increasing the knowledge about different cultures and traditions, would be a great aid to spiritual assessment

It was identifying, that Mrs.U has strong attachment to family, and thus family is biggest support for her. Likewise, the religious background impact Mrs. U life and making decisions process significantly. This two aspect of Mrs.U life help her to cope with illnesses and stress. Spiritual assessment tools and gathered information would assist in establishing more individualized, and specified care plan in future. Knowing about her strong rely on family, will give an opportunity to include the family members in treatment care plan, it may speed up Mrs. U healing process. Also, knowing the religious preferences, would avoid discomfort and impropriate services in care. For example, as a Muslim, she will refuse to be seen by male doctor. If this information would be identified during initial assessment, it would safe patient from excessive stress and uncomforting emotions. During the interview the author identified that illness and stress amplifies the spiritual concerns and needs of an interviewee. For example, the interviewee mentioned, that when she was facing the death after car accident, she turned to a faith. Mrs. U clearly stated, that she was praying a lot during her rehabilitation
