A mentoring program within my high school would drive significant development for our freshman, sophomores and juniors. As a sophomore, I made my high school varsity hockey team and the upperclassmen on the team made me feel welcomed and became my unofficial mentors. This year, during my senior year, I made it my goal to become a leader of the team and mentor the underclassman so that would develop confidence and skills to be a leader and future mentor for the underclassmen hockey team.

My school could do a better job providing mentorship opportunities for students to build confidence and transition throughout their areas of interest. If you have a passion for an activity; a mentor would provide guidance for your success. While I had mentors
