Using your own life, apply Hirschi's Control Theory to explain your lack of deviant behavior. Cover each of his four elements. Hirschi's Control Theory: The sociologist Travis Hirschi developed control theory, which states that social control depends on people anticipating the consequence of their behavior (textbook). I believe how control theory illustrate that social control is directly influenced by the quality of social life that is deviance from result of a sentiment detachment from society. People who trust they are member of their society limit the deviance that lead you carry out to crime. The same rule applied in my life too. I agree with his statement, it is true, someone that have been know there will be great success in the future would fulfill their obligation and rules because they will afraid the consequence they will face in the future. For example, like I say, I understood very little English, so I couldn't catch what a teacher or student said to me. I am very shy person and not good with socializing with others. Consequecenly, I was looking for some ways to improve my English, and My teachers told me how I should get involve with other and how should have energy to engage in deviant activities. I made friends and I started participating in class too. My English had improved. I learned how to hold a conversation with my classmates and my teachers. I also learned how to write and read in the language. I learned how to organize my thoughts and communicate my ideas, knowledge and information through fluent speech. Lastly, belief; strong belief in conventional morality and respect for authority figures restrains tendencies toward deviance.
