A lot of people have a different definition of homelessness and their own idea of what it means. Some will say it's when you lose your job or someone in the family died to the point where they couldn't deal with it. Or it can even deal with drugs, no jobs in the area. But one of the problems of homelessness is when our soldiers of our nation come back from over seas and become another statistic. Most of the reasons why most of this soldiers are on the street are based on PTSD, drugs, jobs and sexual assault. There are some ways where they can be helped and get off the streets back to there families.
Homelessness is defined as when a person is without a home living on the street for more than over 12 months. The national rate for homelessness …show more content…
This plan with help homelessness in the surrounding community to get involved with the association. They have provide several methods on how to help decrease the numbers. The four strategies are plan for outcomes, close the front door, open the back door, and built infrastructure. Each one these have their own influence on how people can comment on help. The method close the front door is also one in psychology mainly used in sales but in this cause the community. Within this type of method it is used for making more poverty programs and preventing homelessness from even starting. Families can intervene before those who are about to drop into the category of living on the streets. Another method is the open the back door which is helping establish a good housing environment that the community can afford and help people off the street. The third method is building a infrastructure that will address the shortage of affording housing. The fourth method is plan for outcomes which is a collection of data understanding what is going on. This type of data can then be used to identify the most effective strategy for each subgroup of the homeless
