Just how democratic was Andrew Jackson? Why you may ask? I’m going to tell you exactly why... Andrew Jackson WASN’T that democratic.
Andrew Jackson seemed like a good guy. Did what he thought the people would like most. He destroyed the national bank, which made the people love him because they had free range with money. But, he did other things that made people not like him so much. Jackson made all Native Americans on “American” land leave and travel west. In the document, “State of the Union Speech” Andrew Jackson said that “Tribes were annihilated… to make room for whites.” Democratic means that they care for all. If Andrew Jackson cared about all people he wouldn’t make the Native Americans leave against their will.
